Introducing The Mycelium:
Thought Leadership Accelerator for Leaders in
Consciousness, Climate & Mental Health

Catalyzing Visionary Voices Guiding Humanity Through Crisis, Healing & Transformation

Hi! I’m Marissa, and I help conscious leaders grow their awareness, connections, and impact for results.

For 20 years, I’ve helped values-aligned entrepreneurs, executives, and startup teams grow from idea to inception to leading brands, advancing business results.

There are typically three strategies for mycelial growth—let’s discover yours…

1: Define Your Bold & Timely Differentiators—Rise to the Top

In my role as PR & Brand Director for Nushama, we built a foundation that drove exponential awareness growth by leaning into what made them unique. Together, we:

  • Clarified purpose through “Articulate Your Why” framework

  • Launched a ketam*ne center with strategic media outreach

  • Rebranded at the intersection of science and spirituality

  • Secured 200+ media stories and 5B+ impressions (NYT, GMA, WSJ)

  • Attracted a steady flow of new members

The key? Bold, clear differentiators woven into your communications.
You’ll use this same process to define what sets you apart—and amplify it to attract aligned opportunities.

2: Build & Educate Your New Market

From psychedel*c therapy and regeneration to social innovation and coworking, I’ve helped shape emerging markets by naming what’s next and building the narrative and ecosystem around it.

In 2008, I co-founded Green Spaces—calling it “shared workspace for environmental entrepreneurs” before coworking was mainstream. That early clarity positioned us as a top community hub.

In this accelerator, you’ll learn to:

  • Spark demand for what doesn’t yet exist

  • Name and frame what’s emerging in your space

  • Craft language that educates and attracts

  • Position yourself as a trusted voice

  • Build traction through clarity and aligned messaging

What future are you shaping? Let’s amplify it.

3: Create Your New Ecosystem — Attract Growth

When a client once said, “Environmental problems are human problems,” it shifted my lens—and led to the birth of an emerging movement. I’ve since built a values-aligned ecosystem bridging climate, consciousness, and social change. In the accelerator, I’ll help you do the same.

What I’ve Built:

  • Founded PSYCA, now a 13,000+ strong global community

  • Featured speaker at The New York Times Climate Forward, SXSW & Psychedel*c Science

  • Earned 100+ media stories about PSYCA

  • Recognized as a hub at the intersection of climate and consciousness

  • Continuously engaged by researchers, collaborators, and media worldwide

What You’ll Learn:

  • Identify your key intersections

  • Build a resonant, values-driven ecosystem

  • Attract aligned partnerships, media, and momentum

Polycrisis Positioning: Message Your Timely Work for a New Era

We’re living through overlapping crises — from climate to mental health to social systems. This era demands clarity and coherence. In this coaching circle, you’ll craft messages that meet the moment and reflect your unique contribution.

Whether evolving your personal brand or reshaping an org’s voice, this is about building a strategy for right now — with integrity.

PR Strategy: Engaging the Media for Awareness

In today’s media landscape, visibility is about more than coverage — it’s about trust, alignment, and momentum. You’ll build a strategy that blends earned and owned media to share your message with clarity and impact.

You’ll get support to:

  • Clarify your story’s value — why it’s timely, credible, and worth sharing

  • Differentiate earned vs. owned media and know when to use each

  • Identify aligned outlets and journalists who care about your domain

  • Craft thoughtful, effective pitches that spark interest and build trust

  • Use AI tools to streamline media tasks while preserving your voice

This is about being discoverable and intentional — so your message reaches the right people at the right time.

You don’t have to go it alone. This accelerator offers warm, intentional introductions to journalists, collaborators, and fellow thought leaders — to expand your reach and deepen your impact.

You’ll gain support to:

  • Connect with aligned media contacts in your area of expertise

  • Grow your network of like-minded leaders and communities for synergy

  • Expand your network with collaborators for cross-promotion or partnership

  • Build social proof through shared content and visibility opportunities

  • Spark ecosystem momentum that amplifies your message and mission

Because relationships are still the most powerful form of strategy — and you’ll leave with new allies, advocates, and visibility.

FAQ

Here are answers to common questions about The Mycelium, including who it's for, how to apply, and what your participation supports.

  • The Mycelium is designed for individual leaders building their platforms in service of a broader mission—often through their organization, project, or initiative. While the focus is on personal brand development, this work ultimately enhances the visibility, credibility, and impact of the leader’s organization.

If a team member is directly supporting the leader’s communications or public presence, they’re welcome to join and participate on the leader’s behalf. By investing in the capacity of these leaders, The Mycelium also strengthens the organizations, ecosystems, and movements they represent—helping elevate their voices and values in the public sphere.

  • Conscious leaders, entrepreneurs, nonprofit founders, and movement-builders working at the intersection of climate, mental health, regeneration, and systems change. People in adjacent fields are also welcome. Prior media or PR experience is not required—just a clear commitment to serving your community and the planet.

  • Participants are selected based on fit with the program’s schedule and goals, ensuring they have the capacity to fully engage and benefit from the experience. We may also host a brief introductory session to confirm that each applicant’s thought leadership goals align with the program’s offerings.

  • Participants are encouraged to attend weekly 1-hour live Zoom coaching sessions. While recordings will be available for those who prefer to learn asynchronously, the sessions are designed to be interactive—ideal for asking questions and receiving personalized support in real time. To get the most out of the experience, participants should plan to set aside time to integrate insights into their communications and next steps.

  • Proceeds from The Mycelium directly fund PSYCA’s nonprofit mission, including community events, operational costs, and the amplification of conscious, values-aligned thought leadership.

  • We’ve priced The Mycelium to offer strong value while remaining accessible to mission-aligned leaders. At this time, we do not offer formal scholarships. Proceeds directly support PSYCA’s nonprofit mission, including free public programming, community events, and the amplification of conscious thought leadership. To continue offering this impact-driven work, it’s essential that we build sustainable, earned-revenue programs like this one. Thank you for your understanding and support.
